#1) Packaging- Reduction in Packaging Costs, Reduced Handling, Eliminates Recycling

Problem: A large manufacture of plastic pellets was spending $.03/lb in packaging costs for cardboard containers & wooden palettes and their customer was spending .05/lb to breakdown and recycle those cardboard containers & wooden palettes. The customer-owned trucks used to ship the pellets carried an average of 43,000 lbs per truckload, resulting in a combined $3,440 per truckload on packaging and breaking down.

Solution: Using DW Global's returnable metal containers in a closed-loop system, the customer was able to invest in a one-time cost for the containers and eliminate $.01/lb in packaging costs passed on by the manufacturer as well as eliminating $.04/lb of their own breakdown and recycling costs, for a total savings of $.05/lb or a savings of $2,150 per truck load.

Factoring in the one-time cost of the containers, this solution paid for itself after just five (5) truckloads. On an average year, 100 truckloads of materials are shipped resulting in a yearly savings of $215,000 for this customer!

#2) Warehousing - Reduction in Warehouse Space

Problem: A logistics and shipping company requires additional warehouse space to store customer parts. Their current warehouse is 20,000 square feet short.

Solution: Using DW Global's galvanized metal containers, the logistics and shipping company was able to invest in a one-time cost for the containers and by stacking them, was able to realize the same square footage for using just 637 sq feet!

Factoring in the one-time cost of the containers, this solution paid for itself in the first year and saved significant dollars each year thereafter!
